Growing up in India, chai was never just a beverage.
It was how neighbors became friends. It was how guests were welcomed. It was the reason people lingered a little longer at the table. Whether shared on a front porch, at a roadside tea stall, in a family kitchen, or during an afternoon break at work, chai had a remarkable way of bringing people together.
Some of life’s best conversations happened over a cup of tea.
When we moved to the United States, we brought many things with us-memories, traditions, recipes, and a deep appreciation for the simple rituals that create a sense of belonging. Among them was chai.
As we settled into a new country and a new community, we often found ourselves returning to the same thought: if chai has always been a way to build connection, what better way to build community here?
That idea became OCT Chai Bar.
OCT, short for Organic Chai Theory, was born from a desire to create more than a café. We wanted to create a welcoming space where people could gather, connect, work, learn, share stories, and slow down for a moment in the middle of a busy day.
Our menu reflects the same philosophy.
We source thoughtfully whenever possible, prioritize organic ingredients, use carefully selected spices, and craft our chai with attention to balance, quality, and consistency. Every blend is designed to highlight the unique character of the ingredients while honoring the traditions that inspired it.
We also believe that no single chai fits everyone. Across India, chai changes from region to region, home to home, and family to family. That diversity inspired us to offer a variety of chai experiences-from familiar classics to wellness blends and specialty creations.
